Why are we still defending "hand phone" in 2025?

I keep seeing "hand phone" in Korean job applications and English presentations, and no one ever questions it. A Band 7.0 essay would lose points for that in seconds. It is not a regional variant; it is a loanword that native speakers do not recognize. If you are targeting an international audience or an IELTS score, drop it now and just say "cell phone" or "mobile." The exam rubric does not care about Konglish convenience.
