Hand Phone" Is Not English — and Why It Matters

A Konglish term like "hand phone" may be understood in Korea, but it creates confusion the moment you send an email or speak to someone from another country. The word "hand" is redundant in English — we simply say "mobile phone" or "cell phone" — and using the wrong term signals inaccuracy, not fluency. Precision in vocabulary prevents the small misunderstandings that compound into larger miscommunications over time.
