The Uncountable Noun Trap: "Informations" Is Not a Word
I keep seeing "informations," "advices," and "equipments" in otherwise competent writing, and I have to say something. These nouns are uncountable in English, full stop; there is no plural form, and adding -s changes the word from correct to glaringly wrong. Yes, communication happens despite the error, but that is precisely the problem—once you internalize the pattern, it appears in emails, reports, and interview answers where the reader will not pause to decipher intent. Correct it once, and the fix stays. If you need a plural, use "pieces of information" or recast the sentence; it is not a minor quibble, it is a gate.
