But I'd argue this actually reinforces the case for precision in exam design: when the test itself is unstable, the only thing a learner can control is their own command of accurate, nuanced English, not the curve. A Band 8 in IELTS doesn't swing by 11 percentage points based on the test date, and that's the kind of stability the CSAT should aim for.
