Ai Corrects It" Is Not the Same as "You Know It
The new AI descriptive writing service from MyTeacher is interesting, but let us be clear about what it actually does. It analyzes one million incorrect sentences and extracts 750 core structures—that is a corpus, not a curriculum. Correcting a sentence for a learner is not the same as the learner internalizing the rule; the moment the AI is gone, the same error will resurface unless the grammar is explicitly taught.
The ten-minute daily drills for R/L, F/V, TH, and final consonants are a sensible start, but they treat symptoms. Phoneme drills only help if you first know which words contain those sounds and why the distinction matters—"fill" and "feel" are not interchangeable, and no amount of repetition fixes a misheard target. I am not dismissing the tool; I am saying the true metric is whether the learner can produce the correct form *without* the scaffold, not whether the screen says "rewritten.
