The Article Problem Is Not a Small Problem
Articles are the most frequent error Korean speakers make, and they are also the one mistake that quietly rewrites meaning. "I saw cat" is not a stylistic shortcut; it fails to tell the listener whether the cat is new or already known, and that distinction is the backbone of shared context. I keep seeing advice that says just speak and you will be understood, but understood at what level? A wrong tense can place an event in the wrong time entirely, and a missing article can turn a specific reference into a vague one. Correct the rule once, and it stays corrected; ignore it, and every email and interview carries the same ambiguity.
